A walk with Mary

We went for a walk with Mary. She showed us where our vegetables will be growing.

We planted potatoes,

coriander,

courgettes,

and strawberries.

We stayed very quiet and still when we saw two blue tits.

They were looking at the bird box.

Out in the garden

We learn about the oak tree in 1st class. We went out to the garden to look at it.

It has tiny brown and green buds. There are no leaves yet.

We looked in the pond and found very small tadpoles! They were using their tails to swim.

We are learning about directions. We put our backs to the sun (south) and faced north.

Our arms stretched out to the east and west.

Music

We listened to Storm by Gioacchino Rossini.

We discussed the music and drew pictures of the scenes we imagined in our heads.

We visited the new Outdoor Classroom.

Well done

Saoirse and Emma represented St Maurs in an U8 Camogie blitz
at the weekend (20th March).  St Maurs won both their matches defeating both
Oliver Plunkett¹s and Erin¹s Isle.  Both girls played brilliantly.  Saoirse,
who only joined the club recently, scored one goal and one point!!
