Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience Award for 2013

Last year the children in 5th and 6th class were shocked to hear that Malala Yousafzai was
shot and almost killed by the Taliban for campaigning for female equality and education for girls.
The children took part in Amnesty International's Write for Rights campaign and wrote to Malala supporting her and wishing her well in her recovery.
On Tuesday 17th September, Malala received Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience Award for 2013. American singer, human rights and social justice activist Harry Belafonte also received the award.
Amnesty invited 6th class to the award ceremony in the Mansion House. It was a very special night.

Visual Arts- Marbling

Last week, we took advantage of the lovely weather and did our Art lesson outdoors. We were using a technique called Marbling. We dropped marbling inks into a tray of water. We used lollipop sticks to make patterns in the ink. We then laid paper on top of the water. The ink transferred to the paper to create lovely prints.
