Human Rights
It is Human Rights Week.
The children in Room 12 were shocked and saddened to hear Malala Yousafzai's story. She is a 15 year old girl who has been campaigning for education rights for girls since she was 11. She was shot and injured on October 9th on her way home from school. Malala is in hospital in Birmingham. The children wrote to her to wish her well.
Art- Fabric and fibre
It's Art fortnight again. This time we are working with fabric and fibre.
We have deconstructed hessian by removing pieces to create a fringe and some patterns.
We then used plastic darning needles to fill in the gaps in the fabric.
We used some of the removed hessian to create pictures.
Once we were confident with the darning needles were able to create wall hangings.
Science- Light
We explored the relationship between the size of
the shadow and the distance between the light source and the object making the
shadow
